Irish Thoracic Society Research Grant in Respiratory Medicine 2018 – 2020

Professor Fergal O’Gara, BIOMERIT Research Centre, School of Microbiology, University College Cork, is the recipient of the Irish Thoracic Society Research Grant 2018, awarded under the MRCG/HRB Joint Funding Scheme and supported by GSK through an unrestricted educational grant. The title of the research project is ‘ Evaluating a novel macrolide based early intervention in the clinical management of chronic infections and inflammation in Cystic Fibrosis’.

Pictured receiving the reward on behalf of the Research Team is co-investigator Dr David Mullane, Consultant Respiratory Paediatrician, Cork University Hospital with Mr Jon Barbour, Director of Medical Affairs, GSK and Professor Ross Morgan, President of the Irish Thoracic Society.
