Undergraduate Quercus College Scholarship at UCC

By Dermot - 08th Feb 2021

The College of Medicine and Health, University College Cork (UCC), has announced 38 students have received an Undergraduate Quercus College Scholarship. The scholarship publicly acknowledges the academic achievement of students who have obtained the highest overall aggregate score in the summer exams of the previous year.

One recipient is Ms Amy Brennan (pictured), a final year medical student in UCC. In March 2020, Amy began working in the emergency department in Cork University Hospital. Her role initially involved preparing an equipment hub in the Covid-19 section of the department, where she was responsible for introducing multiple quality improvement projects, including the design of a Covid-specific resuscitation trolley and “grab bags” for the management of critically-ill Covid patients.
