The GUH team was announced as winner of the Popular Choice Award for their ‘Serum Eye Drop Programme’ at the ceremony in Farmleigh House, Dublin, last month. The project also won the award for Best Team. GUH is the only hospital in Ireland licensed to produce serum eye drops, which are used to treat a range of ocular surface disorders. There are many patients throughout the country whose lives have been significantly improved due to this treatment and without the initiative, patients would have to avail of this service abroad.
