HIPEC commemoration

On Wednesday, 6 March, the Mater University Misercordiae University Hospital hosted a commemorative event marking the 200th HIPEC (Heated Intra-Peritoneal Chemotherapy) procedure given to cancer patients in Ireland. Alongside the commemoration, the event marked the roll-out of the service to women with advanced stage ovarian cancer.
Invited by Ireland East Hospital Group, international speakers included Prof Brendan Moran, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and General Surgeon, Basingstoke, UK, and Prof Willemien Van Driel, Gynaecological Oncologist, National Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
