Hepatitis C Clinical Lead appointment is ‘imminent’

By Dermot - 02nd Dec 2015

Dr Suzanne Norris, Consultant Hepatologist/Gastroenterologist, St James’s Hospital, Dublin, is understood to be the preferred candidate, though the HSE refused to comment last week.

The HSE Service Plan for 2015 provided €30 million to support the roll-out of the Programme, and there have been criticisms of the delay in finalising the post. The new treatments can cure the vast majority of hepatitis C patients, and are being rolled out to patients on a phased, clinical need basis.
