National Rehabilitation Hospital secures €15m extra funding

By Dermot - 12th Aug 2015

The hospital recently secured planning permission from An Bord Pleanála for the new development.

The NRH provides complex specialist rehabilitation services to patients across the country. This investment will enable the hospital and HSE to proceed with a new 120-bed building on the Dun Laoghaire campus. The development will include integrated therapy spaces, hydrotherapy and sports facilities.

“The NRH is an important health facility providing a significant service,” said Minister for Health Leo Varadkar. “The additional funds allocated will allow for a large redevelopment of the hospital.”

Minister Varadkar and Minister Kathleen Lynch recently visited the hospital, with local representatives Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD and Eamon Gilmore TD, to meet the staff and see the vital work taking place.
