IMO “saddened and concerned” by reports from Tallaght Hospital

By Dermot - 11th Dec 2015

The organisation said that the Irish health services were staffed by dedicated doctors and other healthcare staff doing their best for patients and it was vital that everyone felt respected in their workplace and that it be free of any discrimination on religious or other grounds.

The IMO was responding to reports in the national media today that a patient had refused to be treated by two doctors in Tallaght Hospital in Dublin on the basis that they were Muslim. The Irish Independent reported today that  Tallaght Hospital confirmed that a patient this week refused care from two consultants on the grounds of religion.
